wedding invitation | pretty in pink

I'm always so amazed at the creative freedom my brides allow me to have with their wedding invitations. I was ecstatic when I learned that Jesika's wedding colors were watermelon pink and black. I love how the pink pops on the crisp white paper and how the satin ribbon embellishes the black metallic folders.

This design was like no other design I had created before; truly a "one of a kind." I love it when people step a bit out of their comfort zone and just go for something unique. Enjoy a few images of Jesika and Eddie's wedding invitations and rsvp postcards.

branding | love always, anne marie

Branding for small businesses has always been exciting for me. I love watching a company grow and expand. Over the past year and a half I have had the wonderful opportunity to work with many different small business owners. Together we have designed a brand that fits their unique products/services.

My most recent client, Annie Metzger, decided to create a business called Love Always, Anne Marie.
This small business started as a college advertising project by a young group of gals who had a passion for helping others find a way to express their individuality through fashion accessories. Love Always, Anne Marie is dedicated to bringing you a wide variety of bridal, prom, and special occasion hair accessories at an affordable price. Check out the Love Always, Anne Marie Facebook page for some ideas on how to accessorize your next special occasion.

Displayed below are the price tags that were created to help brand this up and coming small business.

ms. lola mae | invitation

It's a fairly common practice to throw an expecting mother a baby shower. Although the term "baby shower," is a fairly new phrase, the actual practice of celebrating birth goes back to ancient times and has evolved over the years. Traditionally, a baby shower consists of a group of women getting together on a Sunday afternoon to eat hors d'oeuvres, play some games and watch the expecting mother open gifts.

As time goes on, baby showers have become much more sophisticated than in days past.
Present-day baby showers have taken on a much bigger and extravagant role in the upcoming birth of baby. It's not uncommon to have the expecting father make a surprise appearance or for there to be a couple's shower. There will more than likely be a theme for the celebration with a color scheme that matches the new nursery. Often times, the expecting parent's will have an ultra sound to determine the sex of the unborn child. It's uncommon to see gifts in yellow and green; traditionally these colors were used when the sex of the child was unknown.

Luckily, I just so happen to be on the creative side of events such as these. I have had the opportunity to create some fun invitations for, what used to be, very traditional events. I think it's wonderful how the traditional baby shower has evolved over time. Below is a baby shower invitation that I created for the shower honoring Ms. Lola Mae. The colors were orange and pink and the theme was a bit on the vintage side. The invitation was embellished with an off-white lace.

branding | twysted yarn

Twysted Yarn was founded by Morgan Zoeller in December 2009 when she found out she was expecting a little girl. After posting a few pictures on Facebook, she received 30 orders within a week and decided to make a business of it. Morgan then contacted me to brand her booming business. I designed a logo and some business cards for handmade items. Morgan was such a joy to work with and very easy going. I appreciated her openness to explore some "not so traditional" ideas.

Over the past six months I have watched twysted yarn flourish. New items are being posted every week with many custom orders being fulfilled. Morgan also has an etsy shop where she sells her handmade goods to patrons all over the country. I have absolutely no idea where she finds time to crochet with two children under the age of 2. She must be a superwoman or have really good time management skills! I admire her determination to be a wonderful mother and wife all while being a successful business woman.

Congratulations, Morgan! I wish you continued success and growth.

Van Wert Bridal Show

Two weeks ago, I had the opportunity to participate in the 2010 Van Wert Bridal Show. It was a wonderful opportunity to meet some excited brides and to network with other vendors in the industry. Many thanks to my amazing friends and family who helped me that weekend and the weeks prior. There is no way I could have done everything without you.

erin photography | branding

Branding for small businesses is one of my favorite projects. I love watching a project grow from start to finish. When Erin Hoffman (erin photography) contacted me for some design work, I was more than happy! I have known Erin for many, many years and I was so excited when given the opportunity to collaborate with her. I knew Erin would be open to many different ideas. She chose a very fresh color palette consisting of grass green and crisp white. Included in the business set are appointment cards, price lists, thank you notes, and business cards.

caramel flourish

Two of my very good friends, Natalie and Kade, have decided to spend the rest of their lives together. I couldn't be happier for these two. I have had the honor of watching them both mature over the years. Those of you who had the privilege of knowing Kade in his younger years never would have thought he would have grown up into such an outstanding young man. And as for Natalie, I am more than honored to call her my friend. Thanks to them both for making me a part of their special day!

Wishing Kade and Natalie many years of happiness!
